The Pyramids
Biblical Israel Ministries & Tours (BIMT) is all about teaching the Bible in the context of the land of Israel and other biblical countries (Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and Italy). There are over 100 biblical sites in Israel alone that have been excavated. However, in Egypt, a country south of Israel, is where we go to see the famous pyramid! They are truly a wonder to behold!
Below you will see one of our latest YouTube Bible teachings. We visit a few of the pyramids in the Cairo area. First, we visit Sakkara. Here, the Stepped Pyramid of King Djoser still stands. It is the oldest of them all. Most date it to around 2,700 BC. Just recently, dozens of mummies have been uncovered.
But of course the most famous of all the pyramids founds so far (the last count was around 112 found throughout the land of Egypt) are the Giza Pyramids. These date to around 2,600 – 2,500 BC. The tallest one is almost 500 feet high. It was built with 2.1 – 2.2 millions stones. The experts tell us that it took 10,000 men about 20 years to build them. The three are named after the pharaohs buried in them: Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. These date about 500 years before Abraham.
