Sunrise on the Sea of Galilee is spectacular. Rising over the Golan Heights, the sun begins to make its entrance over the peaks at about 6 a.m. most of the year (earlier in the summer months). The reflections on the water are beautiful.
What makes seeing a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee so special is that Jesus saw these Himself! The same sun He put into place rose each morning without fail. On occasion, the Gospels tells us that Jesus got up early to pray. When He did, the sun warmly greeted him.
A sunrise is a great time to read God’s Word and spend time with God in prayer.
